In June 2013 a Special General Meeting was held for members of Equestrian NSW.
This meeting sought the approval of two special resolutions to change the name of the previous Equestrian Federation of Australia (NSW Branch) to Equestrian NSW.
The other was to have a proposed Constitution passed by the members. This was due because the previous Rules of the Association had not been reviewed or amended since 2002. The existing Rules of the Association document was limited in its ability to serve the association well in a modern sporting organisation context and was not aligned with other EA state branch constitutions or the Equestrian Australia Constitution.
The constitution is a more flexible and streamlined document which is conducive to best practice governance and is much more accessible to members. It also enables the board more options to work effectively inside the framework of EA and ENSW strategy and policy and compliance with the EA General Regulations.
